El que da mal por bien, no se apartará el
mal de su casa. Proverbios 17:13. / Evil will never leave the house of one who pays
back evil for good. Proverbs 17:13
La ingratitud
es un defecto de carácter. Según la teología hebrea, si el hombre pagase el
bien con el mal debería recibir la retribución divina del sufrimiento. Todo lo
que pasa en el mundo, sea el bien o el mal era atribuido por la teología hebrea
a Dios, porque El es el Creador y controlador del universo. / Ingratitude is a character
defect. According to Hebrew theology, if man paid for good with evil he should
receive divine retribution for suffering. Everything that happens in the world,
whether good or evil, was attributed by Hebrew theology to God, because He is
the Creator and controller of the universe.
La realidad es
que el hombre recoge lo que planta. Es la ley de la vida. Tú no puedes plantar
bananas y cosechar manzanas. El tiempo de la cosecha puede demorar, pero llega
el día cuando, finalmente, el ingrato, el perverso, el hombre malo, recibirá
las consecuencias de sus propios actos. No es castigo divino. Es el resultado natural de la
maldad. / The reality is that man reaps what he plants.
it is the law of life. You can't plant bananas and harvest apples. The harvest
time may delay, but the day comes when, finally, the ungrateful, the perverse,
the bad man, will receive the consequences of his own actions. It is not divine
punishment. It is the natural result of evil.
El versículo
de hoy va más lejos. Al decir "no se apartará el mal de su casa",
incluye a la familia. Eso puede dar la impresión de injusticia, pero las
consecuencias alcanzan a los hijos. Cada uno es responsable de administrar la
vida, sabiendo cuáles son las consecuencias de sus actos. / Today's verse goes further. By
saying "evil shall not depart from his house," it includes the
family. That may give the impression of injustice, but the consequences reach
the children. Each one is responsible for managing life, knowing what the
consequences of his or her actions are.
Jesús no
establece solamente un código de ética que la humanidad debe seguir para ser
feliz. Eso sería moralismo. Tú no necesitas de Dios para ser honesto y respetar
la vida de las personas. Hay buenos ciudadanos que tienen una conducta
impecable, sin la ayuda ni la participación de Dios. / Jesus does not only establish a
code of ethics that humanity must follow to be happy. That would be moralism.
You don't need God to be honest and respect people's lives. There are good
citizens who have impeccable conduct, without the help or participation of God.
El
cristianismo no es solo un cambio de fachada. No se trata de pintar las paredes
exteriores de blanco, mientras las columnas interiores están a punto de caer,
ni se trata de poner un apósito sobre la herida gangrenosa. Jesús cura por
dentro, limpia la fuente de las intenciones, transforma la naturaleza interior,
pone paz en el corazón y, a partir de ese momento, la criatura comienza a ser
una bendición en la sociedad y en el mundo. Tu vida es una fuente de
inspiración para los que te rodean. /
Christianity is not just a change of facade. It is not about painting
the exterior walls white, while the interior columns are about to fall, nor is
it about putting a dressing on the gangrenous wound. Jesus heals from within,
cleanses the source of intentions, transforms the inner nature, puts peace in
the heart and, from that moment, the creature begins to be a blessing in
society and in the world. Your life is a source of inspiration for those around
you.
¿Agradeces tú
porque es políticamente correcto agradecer? ¿O retribuyes con el bien,
inclusive a los que te hacen mal, porque brota de tu corazón el deseo de
hacerlo? / Do you
thank because it is politically correct to thank? Or do you repay good, even to
those who do you wrong, because the desire to do so springs from your heart?
Busca a Jesús
hoy. Entrégale tu corazón y las intenciones ocultas. Permítele que te guíe y te
conduzca en medio de las adversidades y traiciones, de las cuales muchas veces
eres víctima. Y no olvides: "El que da mal por bien, no se apartará el mal de
su casa." / Seek Jesus today. Give Him your
heart and hidden intentions. Allow Him to guide you and lead you in the midst
of adversity and betrayal, of which you are often a victim. And don't forget:
" Evil
will never leave the house of one who pays back evil for good."
