Si fueres flojo en el día del trabajo, tu
fuerza será reducida. Proverbios 24:10. / If you falter
in a time of trouble, how small is your strength! Proverbs 24:10
Muchos
cristianos creen que hacen o dejan de hacer alguna cosa porque la iglesia
regula su vida. ¿Hasta qué punto eso es verdad? El otro día me impresionó una
declaración pública del futbolista "Kaká". Un periodista le preguntó
si era verdad que se mantendría virgen hasta el casamiento. "Kaká"
respondió con una sonrisa. Es un principio de vida que él tiene en el corazón.
"No me avergüenzo de eso", dijo. / Many
Christians believe that they do or stop doing something because the church
regulates their lives. To what extent is that true? The other day I was
impressed by a public statement by the footballer "Kaká". A
journalist asked him if it was true that he would remain a virgin until
marriage. "Kaka" he responded with a smile. It is a principle of life
that he has in his heart. "I'm
not ashamed of that," he said.
Trabajé
muchos años como consejero de jóvenes y descubrí que la mayoría de ellos cae en
los vicios y comienza a andar por caminos de marginalidad, por miedo a ser
diferentes. Quieren formar parte del grupo. Si el grupo comete una locura,
ellos sacrifican sus principios. Porque no quieren que el grupo los aísle. / I
worked for many years as a youth counselor and discovered that the majority of
them fall into vices and begin to walk down paths of marginality, for fear of
being different. They want to be part of the group. If the group does something
crazy, they sacrifice their principles. Because they don't want the group to isolate them.
Salomón
declara hoy: "Si fueres flojo en el día del trabajo, tu fuerza será
reducida". Los valores son probados bajo presión. Es fácil defender los
principios cuando todos a tu alrededor lo hacen. En cierta forma, tú te
conduces del modo que todos esperan que lo hagas, para sentirte parte del
grupo. / Solomon declares today: "If you
falter in a time of trouble, how small is your strength!" Values are
tested under pressure. It's easy to stand up for principles when everyone
around you is doing it. In a way, you behave the way everyone expects you to,
to feel part of the group.
Pero,
¿qué sucede cuando tú descubres que estás en medio de personas que piensan y
obran de manera diferente? ¿Y si todos usan drogas, o si son deshonestos? El
oro es acrisolado en fuego. Los valores son probados en las crisis. / But
what happens when you discover that you are among people who think and act
differently? What if everyone uses drugs, or if they are dishonest? Gold is
tested in fire. Values are tested in crises.
La
enseñanza bíblica no te desafía a sacar fuerzas de tu interior para resistir el
mal, sino a mirar a Cristo para recibir fuerzas de lo alto, a fin de mantener y
vivir lo que tú crees. / Biblical teaching does not challenge you to
draw strength from within to resist evil, but to look to Christ for strength
from above to maintain and live what you believe.
No temas
ser diferente. No te sientas culpable. No permitas que los otros te impidan
volar. Pero, prepárate. Cuando vuelas como águila, atraes a los cazadores. Y
ellos están por todas partes dispuestos a derribarte. / Don't
be afraid to be different. Don't feel guilty. Don't let others stop you from
flying. But, get ready. When you fly like an eagle, you attract hunters. And they are everywhere ready to take you
down.
Atrévete
a mirar el azul infinito de los principios eternos. Abre tus alas y vuela.
Arriésgate. Es mejor arriesgarse hoy en defensa de tus principios, que vivir
toda la vida con miedo, tratando de agradar a todo el mundo. / Dare to look
at the infinite blue of eternal principles. Open your wings and fly. Take a
risk. It is better to take risks today in defense of your principles than to
live your whole life in fear, trying to please everyone.
Antes de
salir hoy de tu casa, repítete a ti mismo: "Si fueres flojo en el día del
trabajo, tu fuerza será reducida". / Before you leave your house today, repeat to
yourself: " If
you falter in a time of trouble, how small is your strength!"
