Reflexion 2023-08-25 RECHAZA EL DESANIMO / REJECT DISCOURAGEMENT

RECHAZA EL DESANIMO / REJECT DISCOURAGEMENT (tomado del libro Cada día más sabio por el pastor Alejandro Bullón – reproducido con permiso de la Asociación Publicadora Interamericana) / (taken from the book Every Day Wiser by Pastor Alejandro Bullón – reproduced with permission of the Inter-American Publishing Association) #reflexiones #reflections

Proverbios 17:22. / A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones. Proverbios 17:22.

It is proven by medical science that happy people live longer. Even with cancer, those who are at peace with God and with men have a better chance of being cured. It is not just about positive thoughts. With self-discipline and a little effort, you can tell yourself a million times, "I'm fine, I'm fine." But, when the night comes, the ghosts of your own conscience will disturb your heart. Everything continues the same.

The expression " cheerful heart " that today's text mentions is in Hebrew, Leb sáméh, which literally means a satisfied and grateful heart. Satisfaction is not conformism. It is recognition of the sovereignty of God. Nothing happens under the sun without His permission. What you are experiencing right now, difficult as it may be, is God's wonderful plan for you. I know you don't understand today. Pain prevents you from seeing many things, time will take care of showing you that God is always right.

 Trust in God places peace and optimism in your heart. They are not manufactured attitudes. They are streams of clean water that flow from a pure spring. Connected to infinite power, the most fragile being becomes strong and sees life from a different perspective.

In the dark hours of your life, learn to trust God. As much as adversity seems to destroy your dreams, God did not lose control of the situation. He continues at the helm of your little boat and will take you to the safe harbor. The secret is not to give up.

 If you take your eyes off Jesus and put them on the difficulties, your little boat will begin to sink. Only Jesus is able to help you go through the valley of darkness that you are going through.

¡Abre tu corazón a Dios y clama! /  Open your heart to God and cry out! Tell him that you no longer have the strength to withstand the test. He will listen to you. He is not insensitive to human suffering. He doesn't need us to inform Him of our pain, but when you tell Him what you're feeling, your faith grows, your confidence shines, and it does you extraordinary good. Because " A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones."

Reflexion 2023-08-11 BENDICE AL SEÑOR / BLESS THE LORD

BENDICE AL SEÑOR / BLESS THE LORD (tomado del libro Cada día más sabio por el pastor Alejandro Bullón – reproducido con permiso de la Asociación Publicadora Interamericana) / (taken from the book Every Day Wiser by Pastor Alejandro Bullón – reproduced with permission of the Inter-American Publishing Association) #reflexiones #reflections

Salmos 103:2. / Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all His benefits. Psalms 103:2.

People without memory is people without destiny. If you don't know where you come from, how will you know where you are going? You advance, but where? In what direction? The human being has an unconscious attachment to the past, despite its dizzying projection into the future. From his story she/he draws strength to continue moving forward, despite the obstacles that appear on the way.

The psalmist invites you today to "bless the Lord". In spanish, the word "bless" is composed of two concepts: "to say" and "good". The human being should always bless God, even though the circumstances may not be the best.

But why should we speak well of God if at present everything seems to be upside down? David agrees with us: "Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all His benefits." In other words: Review your story. Do you remember how the Lord led you in the past? If you are alive at this moment, if you have what you have, even if it is little, is it only because you made an effort, or because God blessed your effort?

In verse 7 of this psalm, the author goes back to the marvelous way God led Israel in the past, "He made known to Moses His ways, and to the children of Israel His deeds." What events are you referring to? He parted the Red Sea, made manna fall from heaven, drew water from the rock, defeated enemies. Is it little? If God did all that in the past, won't He be able to do greater things in the present?

No te abandonó. / Therefore, speak well of God. "Bless, my soul, the Lord", despite the clouds and the dark sky, despite the tears and the pain. God continues to be God. He didn't abandon you. He does not sleep or rest. He is more present than you imagine.

¿Coincidencia? No. ¿Belleza literaria? / This psalm has 22 verses. The same number of letters as the Hebrew alphabet. It begins and ends in the same way, saying: "Bless, my soul, the Lord." Coincidence? No. Literary beauty? Even less. Simply, confidence that tomorrow will be another day and the sun will rise again.

Therefore, before reviewing your daily schedule, repeat to yourself: " Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all His benefits."

Reflexion 2023-07-28 BUSCA SABIDURIA BUSCA A JESUS / SEEK WISDOM SEEK JESUS

BUSCA SABIDURIA BUSCA A JESUS / SEEK WISDOM SEEK JESUS (tomado del libro Cada día más sabio por el pastor Alejandro Bullón – reproducido con permiso de la Asociación Publicadora Interamericana) / (taken from the book Every Day Wiser by Pastor Alejandro Bullón – reproduced with permission of the Inter-American Publishing Association) #reflexiones #reflections

Proverbios 17:24 / A discerning person keeps wisdom in view, but a fool’s eyes wander to the ends of the earth.  Proverbs 17:24

The goal of every intelligent person is to be wise. Acquiring wisdom, she/he manages life in such a way that she/he ends up being happy and making the people around her/him happy.

You do not buy wisdom in the world's fancy stores. It is a precious stone that is priceless. Human beings look for it everywhere and can't find it. Today's verse says that "fool’s eyes wander to the ends of the earth." Everyone tries to fulfill themselves, they seek prosperity, success and material goods. They believe that happiness is the result of achieving those things. They are deceived. Life shows them the error.

If you want happiness, look for wisdom and you will see life from a correct prism. Existence makes sense. Things or the lack of things do not prevent you from enjoying life to the full.

**  / Where to find wisdom? The apostle Paul says, referring to Jesus: "In whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge." * and writing to the Corinthians, he confirms this truth: "Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God." **

In another part of the book of Proverbs, Wisdom says about herself: "Before the depths I was begotten; before the fountains of many waters were." *** This verse confirms that wisdom is not something abstract. Jesus is wisdom itself and when you go to Him and live with Him, every day, in all circumstances, your decisions are not only yours, but inspired by the Lord Jesus Christ himself. You decide wisely.

Without wisdom, the human being lives hurting himself. No matter how good their intentions may be, no matter how pure their motivations may seem to them, they are born from a selfish heart and are doomed to end up in the human sphere.

Spiritual values, which overcome life's most difficult circumstances, can only be found in Jesus.

Talk to Him today before you face the different paths that life throws your way. Consult with Him before making the decision you need to make, because: " A discerning person keeps wisdom in view, but a fool’s eyes wander to the ends of the earth."

* Col. 3:3.

Reflexion 2023-07-14 DIOS NUNCA SE EQUIVOCA / GOD IS NEVER WRONG

DIOS NUNCA SE EQUIVOCA / GOD IS NEVER WRONG (tomado del libro Cada día más sabio por el pastor Alejandro Bullón – reproducido con permiso de la Asociación Publicadora Interamericana) / (taken from the book Every Day Wiser by Pastor Alejandro Bullón – reproduced with permission of the Inter-American Publishing Association) #reflexiones #reflections

Salmos 95:6 / Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the Lord our Maker. Psalms 95:6

Our century lives the trivialization of God. The human tendency is to make it small and insignificant. The biblical concept of God is different. For modern culture God is a simple energy, aura, light or influence. God is God, sovereign and eternal, Creator of heaven and earth. God personal and present in human life.

The psalmist invites us all to join him in prayer and in acknowledging the greatness of the Creator: "Let us kneel", says the prophet, using the Hebrew word barak, which literally means acknowledging that God is always right. He is never wrong. His advice is wise and is aimed at human happiness, even though it seems meaningless to the creature.

The mystery of His designs does not mean arbitrariness. It is not the angry father who yells at the son: "Shut the fuck up, you just obey!" That apparent mystery seems indecipherable to the human being, limited by petty and earthly values. But one day, when the creature is freed from its human nature, everything will be made clear.

When my oldest son learned to crawl, he was fascinated by electrical outlets. He liked to put his finger in the openings and expose himself to the mortal danger of electrocution. At his tender age, it would be useless to explain to a child barely nine months old the reaction that the union of the positive pole with the negative pole could produce. When I yelled at him, "No!", it was only for my son's sake, even if he was unable to understand.

This is the reason that the psalmist gives in today's text to worship God. "let us bow down in worship," he says, let's recognize that God is God, that He is never wrong and that He only wants our good.

No te desanimes. / If you deposited your life in God's hands, despite that, things will not always turn out the way you would like them to turn out. But trust in the Lord, kneel down, adore Him, because He knows what He is doing and, sooner than you think, you will understand. Don't be discouraged. To reach the port of victory it is necessary to sail with the wind, sometimes with it, sometimes against it, but never stop sailing.

Therefore, "Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the Lord our Maker."

Reflexion 2023-06-30 CONQUISTA CORAZONES / WIN HEARTS

CONQUISTA CORAZONES / WIN HEARTS (tomado del libro Cada día más sabio por el pastor Alejandro Bullón – reproducido con permiso de la Asociación Publicadora Interamericana) / (taken from the book Every Day Wiser by Pastor Alejandro Bullón – reproduced with permission of the Inter-American Publishing Association) #reflexiones #reflections

Proverbios 16:23. / The hearts of the wise make their mouths prudent, and their lips promote instruction. Proverbs 16:23

I have in my hands a book called Seven Secrets to Persuasive Communication. It talks about techniques, about psychology, about the principles that lead people to make decisions, but it does not mention anywhere what today's biblical text teaches. The aforementioned book was published in several languages and is bought and read by all people interested in the field of communications.

The biblical principle of persuasive communication is different. It's not about what you talk about, or who you talk to, it's about who you are. The foundation of powerful communication is in the heart.

"The heart of the wise makes his mouth prudent," says the text. It is who you are that gives strength to what you say. People generally do what they see. They listen to your words, but follow your footsteps. They may, for some reason, doubt what you say, but they will believe in the coherence of your life.

Every day, in all places, by choice or not, we are selling our image. If people buy your product, you will feel fulfilled and happy. Otherwise, frustration will fill your life with bitterness.

That kind of selling is communication. You are a communicator. You are alive, you are communicating, and you need to be persuasive in what you do. Only that persuasion is not a matter of technique, nor does it have learned clichés. It has nothing to do with gestures or prefabricated smiles. All of that is artificial, and sooner or later, people realize it.

Persuasion has to do with the heart and life. You meet Jesus. He transforms you, and from that moment on, you begin to live wisely. Your heart is a source of noble, altruistic and genuine feelings. It is nothing thought. Nothing manufactured. Neither studied nor learned. You are simply what Jesus made you, and that is a wonderful picture that dazzles many people. You don't realize it. The others, yes.

Make this day a day of dedication to Jesus. Give Him your heart to be transformed. Cry at His feet. Tell Him about your struggles and trust Him, because "The hearts of the wise make their mouths prudent, and their lips promote instruction."

Reflexion 2023-06-16 LA PRIMERA DECISION / THE FIRST DECISION

LA PRIMERA DECISION / THE FIRST DECISION (tomado del libro Cada día más sabio por el pastor Alejandro Bullón – reproducido con permiso de la Asociación Publicadora Interamericana) / (taken from the book Every Day Wiser by Pastor Alejandro Bullón – reproduced with permission of the Inter-American Publishing Association) #reflexiones #reflections

Salmos 107:6 / Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble, and He delivered them from their distress. Psalms 107:6

The decision I made that afternoon seemed right to me: We were in Terra de Areia, a small town in southern Brazil. I thought that if we followed that land shortcut, we would reach Capao da Canoa, the beach where we would spend the night, faster. My wife and children agreed with the decision.

During the first kilometers everything was going well, until we came to a path full of holes and stones. Two wheels were damaged, and we had no way to solve the problem. It was getting dark and we were on the lonely road and far from any help. "Children," I said impatiently, "choosing this path was the worst decision we could have made." Lie! In those circumstances, the worst decision was to allow discouragement to enter my heart.

Every day, in all places, for different reasons, problems appear. Deciding is the first step towards the solution. The decision that you make today in relation to any obstacle is not about what you are going to do, but about what you are going to think. If you choose the wrong thought, you will enter the rocky path of self-pity. If you cry out to God and allow Him to enrich your thoughts, you will be able to see the solution to the problem.

How does God deliver you in the hour of distress? Not necessarily through a miracle. There are people who watch their lives go by and wait for a miracle that never happens. And where is the responsibility that you have with life itself? You need to decide, even if the decision does not immediately lead to solving the problem.

The natural reaction of the human being when things do not go the way he wants, is to say: "I had to do it, there was no alternative." The reality is that there is always the possibility of deciding. Always. Even when you don't decide, you already decided. You decided for mediocrity and conformism, which can be hidden behind the expression: "I am waiting on the Lord."

Today's psalm recounts Israel's pilgrimage through the desert. The people was lost. Any decision they made would lead to their ruin. "Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble, and He delivered them from their distress." You think about that today, before making any decision.

Reflexion 2023-06-02 IGNOMINIA Y VERGUENZA / IGNOMY AND SHAME

IGNOMINIA Y VERGUENZA / IGNOMY AND SHAME (tomado del libro Cada día más sabio por el pastor Alejandro Bullón – reproducido con permiso de la Asociación Publicadora Interamericana) / (taken from the book Every Day Wiser by Pastor Alejandro Bullón – reproduced with permission of the Inter-American Publishing Association) #reflexiones #reflections

Proverbios 18:3. / When wickedness comes, so does contempt, and with shame comes reproach. Proverbs 18:3

In the book of Proverbs, wisdom and foolishness are the only paths open to man. He has to pick one. Not deciding is already walking the path of foolishness. The Bible calls the fool fool and crazy. The Hebrew word for foolish is enel, which means "lack of wisdom." There is no greater tragedy than the lack of wisdom.

Obra tontamente. No tiene conciencia de sus actos. Se enorgullece y se vanagloria de ellos. / The fool believes that he knows everything and that he does not need anyone to teach him, much less if the teaching comes from a God whom he cannot see or touch. He works foolishly. He is not aware of his actions. He is proud and boasts of them.

According to today's proverb, the end of the foolish is shame and ignominy.

* / Time is responsible for exposing his sad reality to people. It did it with Saul, the crazy king of Israel who despised divine advice and lived a foolish life, ending up defeated by his enemies. One day, they cut and hung the headless body of the foolish king on the wall of Bet-san, for all people to see. *

Contrary to the life of the foolish, the wise is one who listens and follows divine advice. To the wise, God frees him from shame and ignominy. He exalts him and places him on the heights of the earth.

If God is the source of wisdom, the person is wise only when he lives in permanent fellowship with Him. That is the importance of seeking Him in prayer and daily meditation. Spending time with Jesus is not wasting time. From Him comes inspiration, wisdom and the strength to win.

Do you need wisdom for your marriage? Do you need it in life, in business, at work, in your human relationships, as a parent, as a child, or simply as a human being? Open your heart to Jesus and ask for His guidance for the difficult situations you need to face today. If you do it like this, everything will be fine. If not, remember that "When wickedness comes, so does contempt, and with shame comes reproach".

* 1 Samuel 31:9, 10.
