Muy queridos mios, 

HOY hace 10 años defendí mi tesis doctoral en Valencia (España). Eso me ha puesto a reflexionar, qué he hecho como doctor en estos 10 años:

- He sido docente en las universidades Santo Tomás, La Salle, SENA, de la electiva VIRTUAL Automatización de Situaciones Anormales, del área de control automático y avanzado, transformando vidas con el conocimiento, compartiendo  conocimientos con nuevas generaciones. 

- Creé el portafolio para la industria de AuroraTech, y he podido aplicar dichas tecnologías en Peru. 

- En Colombia está construyéndose nueva legislación sobre Seguridad de Procesos (PPAM), y allí también he podido participar y ayudar a consolidar el aporte de AuroraTech. 

- Estoy creando nuevos aportes que ayudarán a la adaptación al Cambio Climático (Detección y Prevención de NaTech, Monitoreo de Infraestructura Crítica -embalses, represas-). 

No es fácil Emprender, pero no podemos quedarnos quietos, esperando que este mundo mejore por los aportes de los demás, mientras nosotros vemos los toros desde la barrera.

 

My dear ones, 

TODAY marks 10 years since I defended my doctoral thesis in Valencia, Spain. This has led me to reflect on what I have accomplished as a doctor over these 10 years:

- I have taught at Santo Tomás University, La Salle University, and SENA, in the online elective course "Abnormal Situations Automation," within the area of ​​automatic and advanced control, transforming lives through knowledge and sharing it with new generations.

- I created the AuroraTech industry portfolio and have been able to implement these technologies in Peru.

- New legislation on Process Safety (PPAM) is being developed in Colombia, and I have also been able to participate and help consolidate AuroraTech's contribution.

- I am developing new contributions that will aid in climate change adaptation (Detection and Prevention of NaTech, Monitoring of Critical Infrastructure - reservoirs, dams).  

Starting a business isn't easy, but we can't just stand still, waiting for the world to improve thanks to the contributions of others, while we watch from the sidelines.

He iniciado labores en el año 2017 en Universidades en Colombia, y tengo el sueño de llegar a otros países como docente universitario. Estoy impulsando el programa AUTOMATIZACION DE SITUACIONES ANORMALES. Este programa abarca Gerenciamiento de Alarmas, Detección y Diagnóstico de Fallos, Control Tolerante a Fallos, Confiabilidad Operacional y Ciberseguridad.  El informe Marsh Risk Consulting (2001) identificó 379 eventos anormales en la industria de los hidrocarburos, con pérdidas que exceden los 10 billones de dólares, en el período comprendido entre 1970 y 1999. El promedio de las pérdidas anuales fue de US$700 millones aproximadamente, con 25 de estos eventos superando pérdidas individuales de US$150 millones ó más.   /   I began working in 2017 at universities in Colombia, and I dream of working as a university professor in other countries. I am promoting the ABNORMAL SITUATIONS AUTOMATION program. This program covers Alarm Management, Fault Detection and Diagnosis, Fault Tolerant Control, Operational Reliability, and Cybersecurity. The Marsh Risk Consulting report (2001) identified 379 abnormal events in the hydrocarbon industry, with losses exceeding US$10 billion, between 1970 and 1999. The average annual loss was approximately US$700 million, with 25 of these events exceeding US$150 million or more in individual losses.

Cuento ya con personal altamente calificado y con experiencia en estos temas, y estoy capacitando a más ingenieros que me apoyarán en esta gran tarea para servir a la industria a través de las universidades inicialmente en Colombia (mi sueño es llegar a varios países en Latinoamérica, Africa y el Medio Oriente), con varias de las cuales estoy construyendo sendos diplomados en esta área.  /   I already have highly qualified and experienced staff in these areas, and I am training more engineers who will support me in this great task of serving the industry through universities, initially in Colombia (my dream is to reach several countries in Latin America, Africa and the Middle East), with several of which I am building diploma programs in this area.

Riesgo de cumplir mis sueños:  /  Risk of fulfilling my dreams:

Debes Perseguir Tus Sueños sin importar las pruebas. Debo recordarles que soy un soñador, y doy este paso inspirado en transformar mi vida y la de muchas personas. No es fácil, salir de la zona de lo conocido no lo es. Dios no prometió que habrían pruebas, pero prometió que en todas ellas nos acompañaría.   /  You must pursue your dreams regardless of the trials. I must remind you that I am a dreamer, and I take this step inspired to transform my life and the lives of many others. It is not easy; leaving your comfort zone is not. God did not promise that there would be trials, but He promised that He would be with us through them all.

Han sido muchas las pruebas por las que he atravesado: En el 2008 sufrí un derrame cerebral (el mejor día de mi vida). Fisica la facitis plantar en mi pie derecho se ha incrementado, ahora camino con gran dificultad usando bastón. Económicas me he atrasado en los pagos de mis compromisos económicos hasta el punto de estar en cobro jurídico e incluso juicio de lanzamiento del apartamento donde vivía.   /   I have faced many trials: In 2008 I suffered a stroke (the best day of my life). Physically, the plantar fasciitis in my right foot has worsened; now I walk with great difficulty using a cane. Financially, I have fallen behind on my payments to the point of being in legal collections and even facing eviction from the apartment where I lived.

Pero en todas las pruebas he visto la mano maravillosa de Dios respaldándome y proveyéndome. Romanos 8:28, lo bueno y lo malo obra para bien a los que aman a Dios y son fieles a su llamado. Ahora soy más feliz porque siento que estoy persiguiendo el PROPOSITO para el que fui hecho. La felicidad está en el ser no en el tener.   /  But in all the trials I have seen God's marvelous hand supporting and providing for me. Romans 8:28 says, "So both good and evil work together for the good of those who love God and are faithful to his calling." Now I am happier because I feel I am pursuing the PURPOSE for which I was made. Happiness is in being, not in having.
