El corazón alegre constituye buen remedio; mas el espíritu triste seca los huesos. Proverbios 17:22. / A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones. Proverbios 17:22.

Está comprobado por la ciencia médica que las personas felices viven más. Aun con cáncer, aquellos que están en paz con Dios y con los hombres, tienen más posibilidades de cura. No se trata simplemente de pensamientos positivos. Con auto disciplina y un poco de esfuerzo, tú puedes repetirte un millón de veces: "Estoy bien, estoy bien". Pero, cuando llega la noche, los fantasmas de tu propia conciencia perturbarán tu corazón. Todo continúa igual. / It is proven by medical science that happy people live longer. Even with cancer, those who are at peace with God and with men have a better chance of being cured. It is not just about positive thoughts. With self-discipline and a little effort, you can tell yourself a million times, "I'm fine, I'm fine." But, when the night comes, the ghosts of your own conscience will disturb your heart. Everything continues the same.

La expresión "el corazón alegre" que el texto de hoy menciona, es en hebreo, Leb sáméh, que literalmente significa un corazón satisfecho y agradecido. Satisfacción no es conformismo. Es reconocimiento de la soberanía de Dios. Nada acontece debajo del sol sin que El lo permita. Lo que tú estás viviendo en este momento, por difícil que sea, es el plan maravilloso de Dios para ti. Yo sé que tú no lo comprendes hoy. El dolor te impide ver muchas cosas, el tiempo se encargará de mostrarte que Dios siempre tiene razón. / The expression " cheerful heart " that today's text mentions is in Hebrew, Leb sáméh, which literally means a satisfied and grateful heart. Satisfaction is not conformism. It is recognition of the sovereignty of God. Nothing happens under the sun without His permission. What you are experiencing right now, difficult as it may be, is God's wonderful plan for you. I know you don't understand today. Pain prevents you from seeing many things, time will take care of showing you that God is always right.

La confianza en Dios coloca en tu corazón paz y optimismo. No son actitudes fabricadas. Son raudales de agua limpia que brotan de un manantial puro. Conectado al poder infinito, el ser más frágil se vuelve fuerte y ve la vida desde un prisma diferente. / Trust in God places peace and optimism in your heart. They are not manufactured attitudes. They are streams of clean water that flow from a pure spring. Connected to infinite power, the most fragile being becomes strong and sees life from a different perspective.

En las horas oscuras de tu vida, aprende a confiar en Dios. Por más que la adversidad parezca arrasar tus sueños, Dios no perdió el control de la situación. Él continúa al timón de tu pequeña embarcación y te llevará al puerto seguro. El secreto está en no desistir. / In the dark hours of your life, learn to trust God. As much as adversity seems to destroy your dreams, God did not lose control of the situation. He continues at the helm of your little boat and will take you to the safe harbor. The secret is not to give up.

Si tú apartas los ojos de Jesús y los pones en las dificultades, tu barquito comenzará a hundirse. Solo Jesús es capaz de ayudarte a atravesar por el valle de tinieblas que tú estás pasando. / If you take your eyes off Jesus and put them on the difficulties, your little boat will begin to sink. Only Jesus is able to help you go through the valley of darkness that you are going through.

¡Abre tu corazón a Dios y clama! Dile que ya no tienes fuerzas para resistir la prueba. El te escuchará. No es insensible al sufrimiento humano. No necesita que lo informemos del dolor que pasamos, pero cuando tú le dices lo que estás sintiendo, tu fe aumenta, tu confianza brilla, y eso te hace un bien extraordinario. Porque "el corazón alegre constituye buen remedio; mas el espíritu triste seca los huesos". / Open your heart to God and cry out! Tell him that you no longer have the strength to withstand the test. He will listen to you. He is not insensitive to human suffering. He doesn't need us to inform Him of our pain, but when you tell Him what you're feeling, your faith grows, your confidence shines, and it does you extraordinary good. Because " A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones."

Bendice, alma mía, al Señor, y no olvides ninguno de sus beneficios. Salmos 103:2. / Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all His benefits. Psalms 103:2.

Un pueblo sin memoria, es un pueblo sin destino. Si tú no sabes de dónde vienes, ¿cómo sabrás a dónde vas? Tú avanzas, pero ¿a dónde? ¿En qué dirección? El ser humano tiene un apego inconsciente al pasado, a pesar de su vertiginosa proyección hacia el futuro. De su historia saca fuerzas para continuar avanzando, a despecho de los obstáculos que aparecen en el camino. / People without memory is people without destiny. If you don't know where you come from, how will you know where you are going? You advance, but where? In what direction? The human being has an unconscious attachment to the past, despite its dizzying projection into the future. From his story she/he draws strength to continue moving forward, despite the obstacles that appear on the way.

El salmista te invita hoy a "bendecir al Señor". En nuestra lengua, la palabra "bendecir" está compuesta de dos conceptos: "decir" y "bien". El ser humano siempre debe bendecir a Dios, a pesar de que las circunstancias pueden no ser las mejores. / The psalmist invites you today to "bless the Lord". In spanish, the word "bless" is composed of two concepts: "to say" and "good". The human being should always bless God, even though the circumstances may not be the best.

Pero, ¿por qué deberíamos hablar bien de Dios si en el presente todo parece estar cabeza abajo? David nos da la razón: "Bendice, alma mía, al Señor, y no olvides ninguno de Sus beneficios". En otras palabras: Repasa tu historia. ¿Recuerdas cómo el Señor te condujo en el pasado? Si tú estás vivo en este momento, si tienes lo que tienes, aunque sea poco, ¿es solo porque tú te esforzaste, o porque Dios bendijo tu esfuerzo? / But why should we speak well of God if at present everything seems to be upside down? David agrees with us: "Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all His benefits." In other words: Review your story. Do you remember how the Lord led you in the past? If you are alive at this moment, if you have what you have, even if it is little, is it only because you made an effort, or because God blessed your effort?

En el versículo 7 de este salmo, el autor se remonta a la manera maravillosa como Dios condujo a Israel en el pasado, "sus caminos notificó a Moisés, y a los hijos de Israel sus obras". ¿A qué hechos se refiere? Abrió el Mar Rojo, hizo caer el maná de los cielos, sacó agua de la roca, derrotó a los enemigos. ¿Es poco? Si Dios hizo todo eso en el pasado, ¿no será capaz de hacer cosas mayores en el presente? / In verse 7 of this psalm, the author goes back to the marvelous way God led Israel in the past, "He made known to Moses His ways, and to the children of Israel His deeds." What events are you referring to? He parted the Red Sea, made manna fall from heaven, drew water from the rock, defeated enemies. Is it little? If God did all that in the past, won't He be able to do greater things in the present?

Por tanto, habla bien de Dios. "Bendice, alma mía, al Señor", a pesar de las nubes y del cielo oscuro, a pesar de las lágrimas y del dolor. Dios continúa siendo Dios. No te abandonó. No duerme ni descansa. Está más presente de lo que tú te imaginas. / Therefore, speak well of God. "Bless, my soul, the Lord", despite the clouds and the dark sky, despite the tears and the pain. God continues to be God. He didn't abandon you. He does not sleep or rest. He is more present than you imagine.

Este salmo tiene 22 versículos. El mismo número de letras que el alfabeto hebreo. Comienza y termina de la misma manera, diciendo: "Bendice, alma mía, al Señor". ¿Coincidencia? No. ¿Belleza literaria? Menos aún. Simplemente, confianza de que mañana será otro día y el sol nacerá de nuevo. / This psalm has 22 verses. The same number of letters as the Hebrew alphabet. It begins and ends in the same way, saying: "Bless, my soul, the Lord." Coincidence? No. Literary beauty? Even less. Simply, confidence that tomorrow will be another day and the sun will rise again.

Por eso, antes de revisar tu agenda diaria, repítete a ti mismo: "Bendice, alma mía, al Señor, y no olvides ninguno de sus beneficios". / Therefore, before reviewing your daily schedule, repeat to yourself: " Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all His benefits."
